Rybkholodflot Shipping LLC traces its history back to 1975. In 1998, Rybkholodflot Shipping LLC was one of the first enterprises in modern Russia to become a joint stock company. In 2020, the company entered the stock market and conducted an IPO on the Moscow Exchange (MOEX: FLOT).
Rybkholodflot Shipping LLC was established in response to the Soviet Union’s need for efficient maritime grain transport in the 1970s. Faced with high shipping costs under international agreements, the company pioneered an innovative bareboat charter model, enabling vessel acquisition through operational revenue rather than state funding. This approach led to rapid fleet expansion, strong profitability, and the introduction of modern maritime management systems. By the late 1980s, the company had evolved into one of the first joint-stock enterprises in Russia. Despite the challenges following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Rybkholodflot stabilized its operations by the mid-1990s and later shifted its focus toward energy logistics. Since the early 2000s, the company has played a key role in crude oil transportation from Russian ports to international markets
